ARTS & MUSIC

We offer a strong commitment to Arts and Music Education

We feature a robust Jazz Band, String orchestra and vocal jazz enrichment offerings to support your students love of music. We also offer show choir and two full time art teachers to explore both 2D and 3D art mediums. Marshall is a place where the arts flourish.

Students have access to counselors, a school psychologist, a social worker, learning support staff,  at risk coordinator and other professionals dedicated to their academic and personal success.

Marshall Middle school is supported with our partnership with our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Monthly meetings are focused on helping our school community and providing outreach for our families. 

FREE MEALS

Every Marshall  student has access to free daily breakfast, helping remove barriers to learning. Free breakfast for all students is available between 7:30 AM and 7:55 AM each day.

AVID

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) continues to strengthen our commitment to helping our students engage in rigorous coursework and real-world problem-solving with confidence.

 AVID combines an elective class with school-wide teaching strategies centered around Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, Reading (WICOR) that engage students in higher-order thinking to construct knowledge, build in-depth understanding of topics and express ideas through communication, and create products that have meaning/value beyond school. AVID builds essential habits, fosters peer collaboration, expands horizons, and creates a culture of determination.

Marshall Middle School has been in its current location since the school opened in 1997.

Marshall Middle School has been in its current location since the school opened in 1997. It is the newest and largest middle school building in Janesville.Our namesake was Nobel Peace prize winner General George Marshall. He was known for the rebuilding of Europe following WWII as well as serving as Secretary of State.
